Sailing and powerboat tuition

Sailing courses for children and adults

Faire sailing school is unique because we can sail at all states of the tide. We can sail for 4.5 hours on the tide itself and then the rest of the day in a tidal lagoon inside Scolt Head Island. Please note our low tide sailing is for under 18s only. We offer sailing courses for all ages starting at 7. Our standard courses are between 3 and 5 days long. However, we do tailor our courses to suit your availability and experience.

Start Sailing

We offer taster sessions on our Norfolk Oysters. These are stable and dry boats which provide a gentle introduction to sailing. During this time, we give you the opportunity to take the helm, learn the ropes and see if it’s something for you.

Harbour familiarisation

Burnham Overy Staithe harbour can be a tricky place at the best of times. The sandbanks are constantly shifting making navigation tricky. Why not allow us to take you out for a familiarisation session. In this two hour trip we will show you the harbour, including the best places to anchor, engine tips and much more.

Own boat tuition

We offer own boat tuition along the North Norfolk coast. Our instructors are highly experienced sailors who can help show you the ropes on your own boat and help build your confidence. We can also do smaller tasks such as helping you rig.

“we have had such a special summer learning to sail as a family. Thank you so much to Ash and the team at Faire sailing for your kind, safe, patient and most of all fun lessons” Ed and Catherine Williams

“For me learning to sail is about two things. Firstly confidence in the competence of the instructor and his/her ability to communicate. Secondly having fun! Ash and Faire Sailing deliver on both accounts (and more) at all levels and ages and I have no hesitation in recommending them to all. Enjoy!”
