CK273-Primrose
Faire Sailing are the proud custodians of not one but two historic vessels. One of these is the Colchester Oyster Smack Primrose. She was built in 1892 and fished for oysters before ending up as a derelict hulk in the late 1990s. Primrose was then rebuilt by the Testers in Hollowshore before rejoining the fleet.
Growler-1922
Growler is a 102 year old sailing barge. We found her in a barn in Suffolk in 2018. We then embarked on a major crowdfunded rebuild raising £50,000 to restore her to her former glory. This has involved replacing almost 80% of the vessel. We very much hope to get afloat in the Spring of 2023. Once afloat we will use her to teach sailing and ship cargo under sail.
